Our curriculum provides a framework on which teachers can build an early childhood program that allows children to grow and develop. Using The Creative Curriculum approach, we balance both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning, with an emphasis on responding to children’s learning styles and building on their strengths.  We use the WEE learn curriculum to introduce Bible stories and Christian ideas. 

Enrichment classes and activities include weekly visits to our gym, music and movement, and monthly chapel with one of our ministers. 

The South End Fine Arts Academy offers weekly dance classes and youth basketball leagues are available through Pritchard Recreation. Both of these ministries are an extension of Pritchard Church and are available to our CDC families and require extra fees. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is offered to children who have already attended a 4-year-old program but need another year to develop socially, physically, or academically before enrolling in kindergarten. The TK program is a relaxed, fun atmosphere which encourages kindergarten success. The program is designed to enhance developmental skills important to kindergarten readiness, such as visual and auditory perception skills, language skills, and fine and gross motor skills, and social emotional skills. 

We use the Procare Childcare app to communicate with our families.  This allows us to consolidate all of our communications with parents in one, convenient place that you can see in real time and it will also send a daily summary with nap, feeding times and diaper changes for families with infants and toddlers. 

Family social events are planned throughout the year.  The children enjoy spending time with their families at school events!   We will put upcoming events in the calendar in our app, our monthly newsletter and post them in the center.  We have an informal parent group that helps by enlisting class moms/dads, planning fundraisers, and honoring our staff through various appreciation events.
